Today’s vibrant U.S. university highlight is the presentation “Town Meets Gown in the USA: University-Community Partnerships and Neighborhood Development”, which was offered by EDMERICA at the “Crossing Boundaries in Culture and Communication” academic conference hosted by the Romanian-American University in Bucharest. The presentation focused on U.S. universities’ engagement with the community in their capacity as foremost anchor institutions, with enhancing outcomes for both the academic and the social players.

Community – and contributing to one’s community – is very important to the American people. In fact, it is said that if one day all of the volunteers didn’t show up for their commitments, the nation would simply halt. More on this in this U.S. Department of State publication:
